WE WISH YOU A JOYOUS EASTERTIDE!

Lenten and Easter Offerings

The clergy, vestry and staff of Saint Mark’s Church and Preschool wish you a blessed Easter.

The risen Lord says to the two women, “Don’t be afraid, go and tell my brothers...” My adelphoi. He’s never called them brothers before. After the resurrection a new relationship of intimacy has been made possible. Because of Jesus’ victory over sin and death, through the cross and resurrection, you and I are not just his followers, or his disciples, or even his friends. More than that, we are now his brothers and sisters. We’re of one flesh! And that is quite stunning good news.
—Br. Geoffrey Tristram, Society of Saint John the Evangelist

May you know the joy of the resurrection this Easter.

Please consider a donation to Saint Mark’s this Easter. Checks are also gratefully accepted made payable to Saint Mark’s and mailed to 1020 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale, CA 91202.

For the Youth (grades 7-12):

Maundy Thursday Youth “Altar Crawl” | March 28 | begins after mass has ended

The yearly Pilgrimage for our youth pilgrims to Altars of Repose, a.k.a. “Altar Crawl” is lead by Deacon Robert Sammis. Mark your calendars now for a reflective and fun evening. Afterwards the youth will end the night at a local diner for good food and conversation! Please email Chey Widdop at chey@saintmarks.la to attend.

Sunday Youth Gatherings | Sundays after mass from February 18-March 17

During Lent, the Youth Group will be exploring the book of Job. This remarkable Old Testament book explores prophetic and traditional thinking about the relation of God and humanity. Starting with the first Sunday during Lent (February 18th) and ending with the fifth Sunday during Lent (March 17th) immediately following Mass, we will meet to discuss the rich wisdom thinking in Job and find ways that it may help us today in understanding our relationship with God and one another. All youth from grades 6 through 12 are encouraged to attend.  The youth are invited to grab a donut (or two or three!) and some juice and head up to the Youth Room immediately following mass. For more information, please email Deacon Robert at rsammis1@gmail.com.

For the kiddos:

EASTERTIDE ADULT EDUCATION

Walk with Jesus for three Sundays

Walk with Fr. Jim Prendergast as we walk with Jesus for three Sundays after Easter: April 14, 21 and 28 from 9-9:45am in the Gooden Study. Our group will discuss our Lord’s visits to the Upper Room and St. Thomas, the disciples running into Jesus on the road to Emmaus, and the disciples meeting Jesus in Galilee and the Great Commission. We need to understand all that happened between the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.
