Sunday Lunch Program
The SLP is an informally organized cooperative of faith communities who work together to provide a hot Sunday afternoon meal to the hungry and unhoused in Glendale. Faith partners rotate throughout the year in hosting the Sunday lunches on their premises. Saint Mark's is host in November. To get involved, contact Dcn. Susie.
Ascencia is a full service shelter that provides housing and services to homeless individuals and families. Saint Mark's prepares and serves a hot dinner two times a month through Ascencia's Guest Chef program, the third Saturday of the month and the fourth Monday every other month, in odd numbered months. Volunteers gather at Saint Mark's to begin meal preparation at 4 pm and deliver/serve the meal at Ascencia at 6 pm. For information and to volunteer, contact Dcn. Susie.
Cafe Del Rey
A program of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Los Angeles, the Cafe serves a sit down meal on the first and third Saturdays of the month to neighborhood residents who are unhoused or whose financial resources are very low. Saint Mark's has partnered with St. Philip's, and prepares and serves the meal on the third Saturday of each month. Volunteers carpool to St. Philip's from Saint Mark's at 9:15 am, and return by 2 pm. Oralia Van Leuwen coordinates the meal planning and preparation; volunteers assist with the preparation and serving. For information and to volunteer, contact Monique Poon.
Laundry Love gives any who are in need of laundry services or for whom the cost of laundry is a strain on their budgets access to a laundromat at no cost. In partnership with St. George's in La Canada, Saint Mark's "takes over" Speed Wash on Foothill Boulevard in Tujunga on the second Wednesday of each month. Volunteers arrive at the laundromat by 6 pm and assist our guests with their laundry, which is free to them, until 9 pm. Volunteers assist guests at the washers and dryers. Coordinating volunteers greet and sign in the guests, manage the distribution of quarters, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, prepare and serve simple food while guests wait their turn at the washers and dryers and manage the assignment of machines.
Saint Mark's Arts Council
The Saint Mark’s Sacred Arts program is dedicated to enriching the Glendale and greater Los Angeles communities and providing educational and performance opportunities for local, national and international performers of all ages and abilities by promoting and encouraging the creation, performance and appreciation of the arts through innovative, multi-disciplinary programs.
Established in 2012, the role of the Arts Council is to support and assist the Director of Music and Sacred Arts as a council of advice in the development, planning, and presenting of art-related initiatives.
For more information or to get involved, contact Ron Barnett.
Saint Mark's is host to three 12-Step groups who meet here on a weekly basis.

We also support the Gooden Center, Pasadena, which was founded by Bishop Robert Gooden. The Gooden Center's mission is to help alcohol and drug addicted men achieve lasting sobriety through a 12-step-oriented treatment program which focuses on education and emotional, social and spiritual support.
