Keep Watch through the Night
Maundy Thursday Vigil
Thursday, March 29
Our sacred tradition of praying with Jesus through the night before his crucifixion comes from the words Christ said to Peter when he found the disciples sleeping while he prayed in anguish at Gethsemane. "Could you not keep watch with me for an hour?"
At Saint Mark’s, we keep watch in one-hour intervals in the chapel at the Altar of Repose. The first slots begin at 9 PM following the Maundy Thursday service and end at 8 AM when Morning Paryer begins. Come and pray one hour with Christ.
