Saint Mark's Youth serve the Sunday Lunch Program hot meal

Sunday Lunch Program

The Sunday Lunch Program (SLP) is an informally organized cooperative of faith communities who work together to provide a hot Sunday afternoon meal to the hungry and unhoused in Glendale. Faith partners rotate throughout the year in hosting the Sunday lunches on their premises. Saint Mark's is host in November. To get involved, contact Dcn. Susie.

Ascencia is a full service shelter that provides housing and services to homeless individuals and families. Saint Mark's prepares and serves a hot dinner two times a month through Ascencia's Guest Chef program, the third Saturday of the month and the fourth Monday every other month, in odd numbered months. Volunteers gather at Saint Mark's to begin meal preparation at 4 pm and deliver/serve the meal at Ascencia at 6 pm. For information and to volunteer, contact Dcn. Susie.

Cafe Del Rey

A program of St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Los Angeles, the Cafe serves a sit down meal on the first and third Saturdays of the month to neighborhood residents who are unhoused or whose financial resources are very low. Saint Mark's has partnered with St. Philip's, and prepares and serves the meal on the third Saturday of each month. Volunteers carpool to St. Philip's from Saint Mark's at 9:15 am, and return by 2 pm. Oralia Van Leuven coordinates the meal planning and preparation; volunteers assist with the preparation and serving. For information and to volunteer, contact Monique Poon.
